GREENE UNDER HAMMER RIFLE. Cal .54. 36” round bbl marked “GREENE S PATENT / NOV.17 1857.” on the upper tang, no inspector marks are visible. This smoothbore rifle has an oval bore. NSN. CONDITION: Smooth blue brown patina on bbl, mostly brown elsewhere. All other metal has a gray patina with light pitting and spots of surface rust. Wood has dents and scratches with minor chips around the upper tang. 4-49743 X8 (1,2500-2,250)
