SEGAL (American, Mid 20th Century) MAN WITH A CHAIR. Oil on board modernist scene shows a standing man holding a broken red ladder-back chair. There is an old typed label which indicates title and artist “Fred Segal”. The painting is signed “Segal” bottom middle. It also has an abstract scene on back of panel. We are not sure of the artist but it is possible that this could be by George Segal. Housed in a heavy wide molded wood frame. PROVENANCE: From a Maryland Collection. SIGHT SIZE: 27-1/2” x 17-1/2”. CONDITION: Generally very good. 9-29626 (300-600)
