GREENE UNDER HAMMER RIFLE. Cal .54. 36” round bbl marked “GREENE S PATENT / NOV.17 1857.” on the upper tang, no inspector marks are visible. This smoothbore rifle has an oval bore. NSN. CONDITION: Fine with 80% thinning blue on bbl and receiver, 90% brilliant blue on the bands. The casehardening colors on the sides of the hammer are very bright.
