PAIR OF PAINTED LEATHER FIRE BUCKETS “E. P. LORD 1815”. One numbered “1” and the other “9”. Blue top and bottom rims. The body painted in black with white lettering. With bright light an earlier paint can be seen with scrolled banner and date of “1799”. Rings are rectangular wrought pieces in buckle form. PROVENANCE: Found in Thomaston, Maine. SIZE: 11″ h to top of rim. CONDITION: Handles as is with one ring missing and partial leather still attached. Alligatored finish, very good. 9-27863 (2,500-4,000)
