OUTSTANDING AND RARE MATCHED PAIR OF PHILADELPHIA MAHOGANY CARD TABLES ATTRIBUTED TO ANTHONY GABRIEL QUERVELLE, PHILADELPHIA, PA. Cut corner rectangular top has inlaid rosewood band. Conforming apron with molded edge. Supported by a turned and leaf carved post ending in a quatrefoil base supported by four well carved leaf decorated animal paw feet terminating in brass castors. Bottom ring carving at top of base goes one way on one table, the other way on the other table. An outstanding example in a hard to find pair. REFERENCE: The Magazine Antiques July 1973 page 90-99.
