SCARCE JOSLYN 2ND MODEL ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Perc. Unusual percussion revolver with 8” oct bbl, dovetail front sight with company name and patent date on the top flat. It has a flat-sided frame with 5-shot cylinder, side hammer and long curved grip with 2-pc walnut panels that are checkered. Action resembles the earlier 1855 Colt Root revolvers. SN 1365. CONDITION: Fine, all matching including the grips. Some original finish remains, being mostly a silver brown patina with 2 or 3 spots of rust spotting on bbl. The rammer retains most of its original bright blue. The cylinder retains 40-50% original blue mixed with patina and the frame 10-15% case colors back of the recoil shields. Grips are fine with slightly chipped edges and retain and even oil finish. Bright shiny bore, crisp mechanics. 4-49150 JR279 (4,000-5,000)
