COLT MODEL 1860 FLUTED ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Perc. Scarce fluted Army with 8” round bbl, German silver front sight, 6-shot fluted cylinder, brass trigger guard and iron backstrap with 1-pc ivory grips. SN 7492. CONDITION: extremely fine, all matching. It appears the wedge is also matching, however, rust pitting has obliterated the number. Bbl retains a smooth gray-brown artificially aged patina over about 20% original blue. The rammer and operating handle retain most of their faded case colors. The frame and hammer retain most of their original faded case colors, bright on the sides of the hammer. The cylinder retains 75-80% original blue with a coating of artificial aging. All 6 safety pins are completely intact. The trigger guard is a medium mustard patina and the backstrap a mottled silver-gray patina. The grips have numerous age cracks and lines and are very fragile with a recent repair at the right toe. Sharp strong bore with moderate pitting. This appears to be a nearly unused revolver that has had very poor storage with an attempt at restoration. 4-49835 JR391 (2,500-3,500)
