FINE MAHOGANY AND GILT CHIPPENDALE MIRROR ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN ELLIOT OF PHILADELPHIA. The fretwork scroll carved frame has inner gilt carved edge in front of a beveled mirror plate. Side gilt carved leaf and flower design. The back frame work is butt jointed, not mortised. The open crest with side gilt leaf carving and central tall, carved phoenix bird on leaf perch.
