OUTSTANDING ENGLISH PAINT DECORATED MAHOGANY PEMBROKE TABLE. The drop leaf table having shaped leaves and bowed top, one drawer, tapered square legs ending in cupped brass castor feet. The drawer fitted with a lock and brass escutcheon. Large paper label to bottom of drawer from “H. B. Herts & Sons Fifth Ave., New York”. The top paint decoration includes a center round scene with woman and child in landscape. A wreath surrounds the picture with green leaves and red berries. A conforming border of flower vine with green leaves and five petal flowers with bows at each corner. The rest decorated with swags of flowers, two urns and foliate motif. The back frieze and front of drawer are string inlaid and paint decorated with flowers. The top and legs also have string inlay with green bellflowers descending the legs. SIZE: 28” h x 30” d x 33” w (open); 16-3/4” w (closed). CONDITION: Some old repairs and restoration but generally in very good condition. 9-25567 (15,000-20,000)
