GOODWIN WALKING DOLL WITH CARRIAGE. A fine example of an early toy, circa 1860s, with a clockwork motor encased in a wooden carriage. The patented pressed linen head is affixed to a metal armature that gives a most realistic appearance of the doll walking while the carriage is propelled forward. The wooden carriage is red in color with an abundance of gold stenciling and the doll retains her original clothing. SIZE: 11″h x 11″l. CONDITION: Overall condition is near excellent, clothes are slight soiled, minor scrapes to dolls face and a couple of minor splits in the wooden carriage. 1-6006 JL (1,500-2,000)
