EARLY STERLING SILVER COVERED HANDLED SERVING DISH. Dublin, 1808. Hallmark RB (Robert Breading). Also hallmarked West. The two part serving dish has a rectangular base with upstretching ornate handles decorated with leaf design. A gadrooned edge with clear hallmarks to base. The conforming top with ribbed design and gadrooned edge has key lock top handle, which is missing. The top is engraved “Presented to Brigade Major Cosby by the Yeomanry of the City of Dublin”. Also there is an engraved family crest with rampant griffin over shield with banner “Audaces Fortuna Juvat”. Top rim stamped 4 and by handle also stamped 4. Bottom stamped 1.
