UNSIGNED (European, 18th Century or Earlier) PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN. Fine early oil on canvas shoulder length portrait of a man wearing a suit of armor with a lace collar, long flowing blonde hair. There is an old label on the stretcher from “Chambaudet Paris”. Housed in what appears to be an 18th C or earlier frame. Possibly early 18th Century or older. SIZE: 24-1/2” h x 20-3/4” w. CONDITION: Restored, early relining on replaced stretcher. Under blacklight it shows inpainting and possibly other early restorations. 9-29832 (800-1,200)
