IVES SUFFRAGETTE CLOCKWORK TOY. This animated black woman with exaggerated features and bulging eyes stands atop a walnut base and podium proclaiming the rights for all women. When clockwork mechanism is activated she leans forward, pounding her right hand on the podium while her head slowly turns to and fro. One can just hear her delivering her speech to all within earshot. This toy is fresh to the market after having spent many years in the private collection of David Bartels. SIZE: 8″h. CONDITION: Overall condition is very good, mechanism is in operating order, and clothes are older replacements. 1-6152 MC (3,000-5,000)
