SCRIMSHAW WHALE’S TOOTH. Interesting tooth has a standing Florida Seminole Indian with hand on long rifle having leafy vine ends. Other side shows a woman reading from piece of paper sitting in large chair. Some faint red decoration to dress. The Indian portrayed is Chief Osceola who lived from 1804-1838. This may help in dating the tooth to this period. SIZE: 4-1/2” h. CONDITION: Small chip to base with 1” crack, otherwise very good. 9-95344 (1,500-2,000)
