Outstanding large oil on canvas Russian scene shows several three-horse drawn sleighs with people crossing a snow covered ground with several men on horseback carrying rifles and spears. Two people on horseback in front hold colorful flags. A colorful sunset under purple clouds completes the image. Signed lower left “C Stoiloff”. Housed in a magnificent period gesso decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 29” x 39-1/4”. CONDITION: Relined with masking varnish. Very good. 9-29959 (6,000-8,000)
