V.G. phone has ebonized shaft and mouthpiece and natural wooden receiver on twisted wire holder. Base marked with V over G logo and “U.S.A.” on one side and “V.G. Co. Jenet, PA / 3 1/4 Oz. Avor.” on other. Metal screw-on cap on bottom. Redlich’s phone is a blown-out bottle with mouthpiece composed of aluminum, cardboard, plastic and wood with an ebonized wooden receiver hung from a wire hook. Base is marked in arcing letters “Redlich Chicago Serial No 687-935 Patent 852242”. SIZE: 7-1/2″ t. & 7-1/4″ t. respectively.
