LOT OF FOUR LATE 19th CENTURY MARITIME MARKER FLAGS. An interesting and colorful set of four commercial maritime flags. #1. Long red and white pennant, 8 1/2’ long on the fly, 30” wide at the hoist. Made of thin white and red wool bunting- White at the hoist, red in the center of the fly and white at the fly end. Canvas reinforced hoist with rope. “Thomas” written in period ink on canvas. CONDITION: Good, colors are bright, minor moth damage. #2. Measures 34” x 45” made of light wool bunting, white field with red St. Andrews Cross in the center. Part hand and part machine stitched. Canvas hoist with rope. “No. 5” written on canvas hoist in period ink. CONDITION: Good, minor moth damage to white field. #3. Measures 34” x 45” made of cotton bunting-red and dark blue bisected diagonally. Canvas hoist with rope. “No.5” written on canvas in period ink. #4.
