FINE AND RARE MAHOGANY INLAID BAROMETER/THERMOMETER BY J. STOPPANI, AMSTERDAM. Architectural case having peaked pediment top with large urn with flame finial. Wide silvered brass register plate with three barometer tubes and one thermometer tube. The top of the register has a double urn crest. The bottom with decorative swag drop. Maker’s cartouche on register “Barometer Thermometer en Controleur Door J: Stoppani & Zoon Amsterdam”. The edge of the front case has decorative band inlay and the crest top and bottom have eglomise panels with decorative motifs including a skater on the bottom. The whole case has dropped turned finials. SIZE: 53-1/2” h x 11” w. CONDITION: Very good. 9-95805 (6,500-8,500)
