HISTORIC CIVIL WAR 34 STAR AMERICAN FLAG OF EARLY FORM. This 34 star flag, 1861-1863, in nearly square shape measures 6’ at the hoist, 7’ on the fly. The canton measures 2’ 6” x 3’ having 34 fours white stars in cut outs. All hand sewn, this flag is made of red, white and blue wool bunting except for the stars which are of cotton and the hoist reinforcement of canvas. The form of this flag is early in nearly square-like shape. A very attractive and historic early Civil War flag. CONDITION: Good. There is a large hole in the bottom white strip about 3-1/2” in dia. Other minor holes are present throughout the fly. The fly is separated from its reinforced hoist for about 4 inches at the bottom and the fly end is tattered. 4-50152 CW (1,000-1,500)
