ALBERTO PASINI (Italian, 1826-1899) THE MEETING. Outstanding oil on panel scene shows three men and three horses in tropical landscape. Southern Mediterranean scene, possibly North African/Persian. One man wearing head scarf and robe sits atop a black horse and is holding Persian type long rifle. Man with red robe with small gun at waist wearing red fez stands beside brown horse. Another man in similar costume sits atop gray horse and holds long lance. They are in a small clearing with water on the left and palm trees on the right and mountain background. Signed lower left “A. Pasini”. Housed in a gilt frame liner. SIZE: 7” x 13”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-96545 (8,000-12,000)
