OUTSTANDING 19TH CENTURY REDWARE ADAM & EVE FIGURE. Probably Pennsylvania. The figures of Adam & Eve stand next to a red apple tree trunk that sprouts five apple and leaf branches. A snake winds around the tree with his head poking out of the top and holding a white apple.. All set on an oval concave base and all over paint decoration. The branches, snake tongue and Adam & Eve figures are held with wire. A very interesting and rare example of Redware. SIZE: 9-1/2” h x 6” at widest. CONDITION: Very good. 9-28076 (4,500-5,500)
