DOGLOCK MUSKET.

DOGLOCK MUSKET. Cal 7.5. 45” part oct bbl. Lock appears to be Dutch, bbl has Birmingham proof marks at the rear but it has been set back at least once, as the front decorative German silver band runs through one of the proof marks. The Brown Bess style buttplate has been ground overall to fit this club butt stock. The touch hole in bbl is at the rear of the pan, which has been ground to accommodate it. NSN. CONDITION: Heavy, crusty rust on the lockplate except top jaw and screw and dog, which appear to be replacements. Bbl is brown overall with light pitting at the breech. Stock is broken through the wrist. The trigger guard is also broken at the same place. Lock is good. 4-49315 FS16 (2,000-3,000)
