SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1795 FLINTLOCK MUSKET.

SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1795 FLINTLOCK MUSKET. Cal .69. 44-1/2” round bbl. Lock is marked “SPRINGFIELD” in downward arc at the rear of the lockplate and “US” inscript in front of the hammer, only traces of the eagle remain. It is dated 1801 on the buttplate tang. There is a silver thumb piece in the wrist of the stock stamped unevenly “SHADRACH / BOND”. This is a professional reconversion with newly made parts. The side screws, middle bbl band, sling swivels and ramrod are also replacements. NSN. CONDITION: Brown patina overall with areas of cleaning and artificial aging. Bbl has a braised repair 2-5/8” from the muzzle and another 14-3/4” from the muzzle. There are numerous repairs to the wood. Lock is functional. 4-50128 FS157 (2,500-4,000)
