SET OF SIX CHINESE EXPORT FAMILLE ROSE ARMORIAL DESSERT DISHES. Circa 1820. The plates have blue and white quilted borders and cavetti. Centering on an eagle’s head and plumed knight’s helmet flanked by gilt ribbon hung mantles incorporating a garter roundel inscribed “Deo duce ferro comitante” (The arms of Caulfield impaling Talbot). The plates having gilt ring highlights. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection. SIZE: 7-1/2” diameter. CONDITION: One plate has tiny chip at rim, otherwise the set is very good. 9-72606 (2,000-3,000)
