HARPER’S FERRY MODEL 1803 RIFLE. Cal .54. 36” part oct bbl. Dated 1817 at the rear of the lock. Numerous proof marks are stamped on the left side of the stock but the inspector initials are not readable. A very good 1803 penny (small date, small fraction) is in the patchbox along with a spare flint and lead. NSN. CONDITION: Gray brown patina overall. Brass has been cleaned but is nicely toned. There is a short crack at the rear lock screw, otherwise the stock is very good. There is a new main spring and one bridle screw but other lock parts appear to be original. The markings are sharp. 4-49923 FS60 (2,000-3,000)
