CHARLES PAUL GRUPPE (American, 1860-1940) DUTCH FISHING BOATS. Outstanding large oil on canvas Dutch scene shows three large fishing boats at low tide being outfitted by a man in a cart and four figures. One fishing boat is seen sailing away and another is seen in distance. Sandy beach with partially buried anchor. Signed lower right “Chas. P. Gruppe”. Housed in a magnificent gesso decorated frame, which appears to be original to the painting. There are remnants of an old exhibition label on reverse. SIZE: 40” x 52”.
