JOHN VINE OF COLCHESTER (British, 1809-1867) HOLDERNESS CATTLE IN A LANDSCAPE. Large oil on canvas scene shows three large brown and white cattle. One drinking from small stream, two standing head to head in front of barn type building. Sun shined through opening in cloudy sky which shows a blue sky. Signed lower right “J. Vine”. Housed in an antique birdseye maple ogee type frame with gold liner. SIZE: 24-1/2” x 39”. CONDITION: Some minor inpainting, light vertical scratch, relined.
