UNSIGNED (19th Century) THE COMING SQUALL. Oil on canvas marine scene shows a two-mast sailboat with one sail up plying through rough water towards a large ship in full sail. A land mass is seen beyond. All under a gray sky in distance with blue breaks above ship. Housed in a period gesso decorated gilt frame. Possibly a work by Clement Drew. SIZE: 8″ x 12″. CONDITION: Canvas patch to reverse with some inpainting. Craquelure, good. 9-91639 (300-500)
