RARE AND IMPORTANT BLOWN GLASS MARINE LEACH BY LEOPOLD AND RUDOLPH BLASHKA. Leopold (1822-1895) and Rudolph (1857-1939) Blashka are from Dresden, Germany. They made highly detailed teaching models of ocean invertebrates. Their accomplishments also included a study collection of glass flowers. A collection is known at Harvard University and the Zoological Institute in Vienna. An original cardboard label with early script identifies it as “Pontobdella Muricata, L. No 330”. The glass leach has spiny tapered body in curved form with ball ends. SIZE: 5” l x 3/4” at widest. CONDITION: Very good. 9-25713 (1,000-3,000)
