CASED PAIR OF STRAIGHT RAZORS.

CASED PAIR OF STRAIGHT RAZORS. Fancy blades marked “JOHN BROWN & Co. / RAZOR MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY / KING WILIIAM IV / COLUMBIA WORKS SHEFFIELD”. The scales are mother of pearl and in sculpted on both sides with the crown at the tip, rose and thorn shield with arrows and naval anchor. They are cased in a fine rosewood box with mother of pearl nameplate and stringing. The interior is lined with purple velvet. One of the short dividers and the left end of the lid are missing. CONDITION: Fine with a few specks of very light pitting on each blade. The tip of one scale is missing including part of the anchor. There is slight loss of varnish on the top. 4-50145 FS187 (2,500-3,500)
