THEODORE M. WENDEL (American, 1859-1932) THE BLUE WATERWAY. Outstanding impressionistic Italian or French scene shows a small boat moored along a waterway next to blossoming fruit trees. Buildings are seen behind and the upper right has two sailboats with red sails. Signed lower right “Theo Wendel”. Housed in its original gilt molded wood frame which has a framing label affixed to the back by “Frank W. Bayley Boston”. PROVENANCE: Collection of Mrs. George T. Francis, Philadelphia, PA.
