FINE CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIR. Back has wonderful scroll and diamond carved splat, two tapering stiles supporting a well carved crest. Front cabriole legs ending in carved trifid feet with carved leaf at knees. A small shell carving at center of straight seat rail. 18th Century. Possibly Irish. Slip seat has needlework covering with decorative upholstery tags. SIZE: 37-1/2” h x 19” seat h. CONDITION: Some repairs, very good condition. 9-96455 (1,000-2,000)
