MILITIA SWORD CIRCA 1830. Knights head pommel, fluted bone grip, cruciform guard with large langet with eagle. White etched blade with no maker. Brass scabbard with foliate engraving. Two carrying rings and frog button. CONDITION: Scabbard, hilt and pommel have traces of original gilting. Blade is still 50% frosty. 18” etched panels contain patriotic motifs including eagle with E. Pluribus Unum, sprays of arms, liberty cap and floral decoration. One quillon bent over and bone handle is cracked and chipped. 4-49023 JS55 (800-1,000)
