R.S.VAN NESS (19th Century) LANDSCAPE WITH MILL AND FIGURES. Oil on canvas scene shows a large mill with water wheel and pond nestled in a river valley with woods and mountain. Two men are seen near mill and in the foreground are two hunters with bird dogs conversing with a man on horseback. Sunset sky blue to pink. Signed lower left “R.S. van Nefs”. Housed in a fancy gesso decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 22” x 30”. CONDITION: Two small holes generally very good. Frame has some gesso damage with some pieces present. 9-73195 (1,500-2,500)
