MONKEY AND TAMMANY MECHANICAL BANKS. 1) Monkey Bank. Put penny in monkey’s mouth push lever and monkey deposits in organ grinder’s organ. Made by Hubley in 1925. 2) Tammany Bank. Put coin in Tammany’s hand and he slides coin into vest pocket. Tammany also known as Boss Tweed a corrupt New York City Mayor. Made by J & E Stevens, patented in 1877. SIZE: Larger is 8-7/8″ l. CONDITION: Monkey bank has light surface rust throughout. Tammany has chipping to the body and face. Otherwise they are both in good condition. 1-4740-2 MC (300-400)
