WILLIAM TROST RICHARDS (American, 1833-1905) GLACIAL MOUNTAIN LANDSCAPE. Fine oil on canvas scene shows several buildings next to a lake with tall peaked mountain with glacier. Light blue and cloud sky, calm lake water with rocky and grass covered shoreline. Signed lower left “Wm. T. Richards”. Housed in what appears to be its original gilt gesso decorated frame. SIZE: 16-1/2” x 27-1/4”. CONDITION: Craquelure with stretcher line at top, very good. Appears to have minor inpainting with masking varnish present. 9-29964 (8,000-12,000)
