MODEL 1850 FOOT OFFICER’S SWORD. 31-1/2” blade is marked “HORSTMANN & SONS PHILADELPHIA”. Blade is etched with about 15” to 16” panels on both sides with patriotic motif including eagle, flags, drums, “U.S.” eagle and E. Pluribus Unum. Complete with scabbard. CONDITION: Grip is 100% complete leather and wire. Blade has been cleaned, etching is all readable but weak in some areas. Brass mounted iron scabbard has been polished and lacquered as has hilt. 8-87167 (500-650)
