ABBOTT FULLER GRAVES (American, 1859-1936) CHURCH, KENNEBUNKPORT, MAINE. Outstanding oil on canvas scene shows the South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport, Maine framed amongst colorful trees and grass lawn. Light shines from the right reflecting on the green doors of the church front. The full steeple is shown with clock and weathervane. Bright colors can be seen in the trees and bushes. The sky with glimpses of bright blue amongst the clouds. Inscribed bottom right “To John Feaster” and signed “Abbott Graves ANA”. This painting was a gift to John who was the Minister of this church. The painting shows the best of Graves’ work. Housed is a gilt molded wood frame. SIZE: 24″ x 19-3/4″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-91347 (25,000-35,000)
