FINE SOAPSTONE CARVING OF A DEITY. 18th century or earlier, China. Highly translucent olive green stone with brown areas carved depicting the God of Official Promotions. SIZE: 7″ h. CONDITION: Loss to scroll handles on shoulder, chips to edges of robe and old loss at back of base. There is a horizontal vein running 2″ above base mimicking a hairline crack. 9-25769 (300-500)
