MODEL 1850 STAFF & FIELD OFFICER’S SWORD. 31-1/2” blade marked “AMES MFG CHICOPEE MASS”. Complete with scabbard also marked “AMES MFG CHICOPEE MASS”. CONDITION: Sharkskin grip and twisted wire wrap are 90% complete. Blade etch is good with tiny areas of original frost. Hilt retains traces of gilting in protected areas. Top two scabbard mounts retain about 50% original gilt. Drag is missing screw and numerous small dents and only traces of gilt. 4-49715 JS41 (800-1,000)
