PAUL EMILE LEON PERBOYRE (French, 1851-1929) BACK FROM THE HUNT. Outstanding oil on canvas fox hunting scene shows five riders on horseback and two dogs. They are coming towards viewer on a dirt road. Front two include a young woman in black attire riding side saddle on a brown horse. Next to her is a man with black hat, red coat and holds large horn across his chest. Two hunting dogs follow beside. Signed lower left “Perboyre”. Late fall woodland scene behind. Housed in its original fancy gilt wood carved frame with inner gilt liner and glass. The center stretcher has a “Moirinat, Paris” label and stencil. Also “Albany Art Gallery” label affixed to top of frame. SIZE: 15” x 18-1/4”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-96546 (4,000-5,000)
