RICHMOND CARBINE. Cal .62. 25” bbl, lock is marked “C.S./RICHMOND, VA” forward of the hammer, behind the hammer is “1862”. No bbl markings discernable. Rear sight is correct. Front sight is cut down to about half of its original size. Forestock is cut under rear band and stapled. Both bbl bands marked with “U”s, brass nosecap, brass buttplate, indiscernible name carved in buttstock, swelled ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with scattered pitting overall on iron parts. About 4” x 3/4” piece of wood professionally repaired behind lock. Rear stock sling swivel missing from stock. Lock mortise has restoration. Mechanics good. 4-50168 (6,500-7,500)
