UNSIGNED (American, Mid-19th Century) PAIR OF ANCESTRAL PORTRAITS. Oil on canvas portraits of a man and woman. The man facing right wearing a black suit with white shirt. He is sitting on a chair with his arm wrapped around the back of the scrolled crest, hands clasped in front. The woman facing left wears a black dress with lace collar. She holds a small open book in one hand. Each have a reddish black background and are identically housed in deep molded wood frames that are painted gold. SIZE: 34” x 29”. CONDITION: Woman has upper right tear and some chips. Man has lower right tear, otherwise good. 9-99897 (1,000-2,000)
