CLOWN ON GLOBE MECHANICAL BANK. Place a coin in the slot, when lever is released ball and clown spin and coin is deposited in bank. This is one of the few mechanical banks that had a wind-up spring mechanism. Manufactured by J & E Stevens, patented in 1890. SIZE: 9-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Bank is all original with original trap. Some wear to clown, ball and base. A nice example of this fairly scarce bank. 1-5279 MC (1,500-2,000)
