BISSELL PHELPS SMITH (American, 1892) “LOU BARNES’ BARN”. Oil on board New England scene shows a red barn and barnyard under large green trees and hillside. Signed lower left. Housed in a modern gilt wood frame. Label from the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts on reverse indicating the artist as Treasurer. Also indicates that the barn is in Burlington-Collinsville, CT. Pencil inscription indicates that it was exhibited at Kent, 1954 and the Torrington Artists Annual, 1955. SIZE: 16” x 20”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-27323 (500-1,000)
