UNSIGNED (American, 19th Century) WINTER AT NIAGARA FALLS. Large primitive oil on canvasboard scene shows the great falls at Niagara with ice and snow. The foreground having snow covered ground with four sleighs pulled by one and two horse teams. The scene is shown under a cloud and blue sky. Housed in a wonderful dark stained molded wood frame with gilt gesso decorated liner. SIZE: SIGHT: 23-3/4″ x 31-3/4″. CONDITION: Surface dirt and some chipping, especially along the bottom 2″, some small areas of inpainting. Some other small chipping across painting. 9-90864 (800-1,200)
