SCARCE SAVAGE MODEL 1861 RIFLE MUSKET. Cal .58. 40” part oct bbl. “N.J” cartouche on the left side of the stock below the same marking on bbl. Dated 1863 on lock and bbl. NSN. CONDITION: Metal has been cleaned to bright with some light pitting remaining except the buttplate which has a rust brown patina and an issue mark “E / 35”. Wood has many dents and gouges and has been lightly cleaned and waxed. Lock is fine. 4-49588 FS121 (1,000-1,500)
