BRONZE CHARAKKU ON LATER FRAME. 19th century, Kerala, India. This fine bell metal cauldron or brasier with molded everted rim with opposing rolled handles on a later cast iron tubular stand. This shallow cauldron used in celebrating meals in Hindu temples, primarily in India. SIZE: Cauldron: 12″ h x 38-1/2″ dia. Overall: 39″ h. CONDITION: Cauldron with original untouched surfaces.
