SPECTACULAR J & E STEVENS PROFESSOR PUG FROG’S GREAT BICYCLE FEAT MECHANICAL BANK. Painted in the scarcer white and yellow base, perhaps one of the finest examples of this bank known to exist, a great rarity in this condition. Upon close examination very little wear is evident in the depository section and the bottom of the frog’s chin is devoid of any wear. Other exceptional points to this example are the incredible amounts of paint on the bottom of the frog’s chin, Mother Goose’s tongue, and the incredible amount of gold and red highlighting on the lever, book, and raised lettering, which tend to be candidates for the most wear. The bicycle itself is amazing with nearly all of its original silver paint. Truly an amazing and highly sought after bank because of the intricate mechanism and action, and would be the pride of any collector’s bank collection. PROVENANCE: Ex-Norman Perry Collection.
