IMPORTANT RHINOCEROS HORN CUP. Kang Hsi Period (1662-1722), China. This fine example, the surface carved in high relief with flowering prunus branch against simulated rock work. The interior similarly carved and pierced with molded edge and sloping sides. The base recessed. The whole of a deep red amber color. Now fitted to a later pierce carved rosewood stand.
